Process Outline
The process of creating a custom piece of woodwork can be an exciting one. Each process is tailored to the specific needs of the client. Still, there is a common thread between most project, which is outlined below.
I like to sit down with a client who has an idea for a project, which could be in the from of a detailed vision or general need. This conversation is helped immensely by having pictures, sketches, articles or websites that show elements of the desired project. I generally will come to your home or place of work to take a look at potential area, to have a first hand feel of it. Budget and time lines are also important discussions to ensure that I can provide a proposal, including preliminary sketches and a proposed timeline.
If the client is in agreement with the proposal, we can begin on the project. The initial part of the project will create design drawings, and can involve materials research and sourcing. A detailed budget and timeline will be developed for larger projects.
Once the client signs off on the drawings and the budget, the creation of the custom work will begin. I like to ensure that my clients are kept informed of the progress of the project to ensure a successful result.
Once the building is complete, will perform on-site installation, if it is necessary.
I do take pride in my work, and am happy to return to touch ups after it has been completed.
if you have any questions about the process, please contact me, and I would be happy to go over it with you.
