Having worked in the field of custom woodworking for many years, I appreciate the care and sensitivity required when introducing a wide range of new pieces into older homes. The projects I undertake are frequently either period or architecturally specific, both of which demand not just technical skill but also historical knowledge when creating the ideal Artistic Solution. Often the challenge is using new materials and fitting them harmoniously into the existing aesthetics of an older home.

One particular challenge I always enjoy is finding innovative ways to create extra space, or the illusion of space, in a home or room that only possesses limited free area. Another interesting challenge is to combine function with style. I enjoy ensuring that the special characteristics that make your home distinctive are carried through into the new work. This may mean paying careful attention to the curves and moulding patterns, or colours and finishes, that already exist in the vicinity of the proposed project. Combining function and style is an art in itself.
